Erectile dysfunction (ED) also referred to as "male impotence" is a sexual dysfunction characterized by the consistent inability to sustain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual intercourse. The word "consistent" is included in the definition because most men experience transient episodes of ED that are temporary and usually associated with fatigue, anger, depression or other stressful emotions.
The Institute for Health and Welfare, in the UK in 2009, estimated that 1 in 10 men in the UK have recurring problems with their erections at some point in their lives. It occurs in men over the age of 60 to 65 years. Multiple factors such as diabetes mellitus (causing neuropathy) or hypogonadism (decreased testosterone levels due to disease affecting the testicles or the pituitary gland) lead to erectile dysfunction.
Endogenous factors (arise in the individual) include endocrine, cardiovascular imbalances and other medical conditions, and emotional causes. Although exogenous (from sources outside the body) includes medications, surgery and radiation, trauma, smoking, alcoholism and drug addiction. A symptom is defined as a state that indicates the presence of something else.
The symptoms of erectile dysfunction, however, are usually the result of a physical or psychological problem. Diseases, hormonal deficiencies, neurological diseases and mental illnesses such as depression or anxiety (which produces difficulties in erection and also markedly reduced libido and sexual thoughts) could be the beginning ED. There are two types of erectile dysfunction or male impotence: • Primary premature ejaculation • Secondary premature ejaculation Depending on the severity of erectile dysfunction, the main symptom of this disorder is the difficulty in maintaining an erection for a longer period of time ie incompatible time getting an erection or a complete and total lack of ability to achieve an erection capacity, while the secondary symptom is associated with difficulties or orgasm ejaculation. The main symptom of erectile dysfunction is the inability to have an erection or inability to maintain an erection long enough to finish while having sex. The condition can occur in various ways: •
There may be temporary or appear occasionally • You can develop gradually and quite persistent • It can develop suddenly. Difficulty maintaining an erection • Decreased sex drive In addition to the above main symptoms, common symptoms dysfunctional get erections that are not (lazy) rigid erection or complete loss of erection rapidly often before or during penetration and no or partial erection of the penis. The penis is not able to hold the blood in your camera and so there will be no fuller and firmer and erectile dysfunction regardless of the obvious penis, there are many other symptoms associated with erectile dysfunction such as symptoms of arterial hypertension chronic depression and physical and psychological symptoms
. Better understanding of the causes, signs and symptoms of erectile dysfunction in combination with a better understanding of erectile dysfunction, a better approach to the problem and the development of new and more effective therapies have resulted in a significant improvement in the prognosis malfunction erectile.
